Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencils

As stated in my first May haul these are $9.95 and you can purchase these either at Priceline or Chemist Warehouse. I was surprised I didn't hear anyone on YouTube (well the ones that I follow) do a review on them, I starter noticing them when Priceline had their 40% off all cosmetics sale but I didn't purchase at the time until Chemist Warehouse had 50% off all Maybelline products :)

Love My Pink

This colour is fuchsia almost like a Barbie pink, it does apply evenly onto the lips and it would be something that could possibly be one of my favorite lipsticks. The left photo makes it appear metallic but I can guarantee you the photo does not do it justice.

Pink So Chic

This shade I am not too impressed with, it applies sheer on my lips compared to the others and has a little hint of shimmer. I don't know what I was thinking when I bought this colour even though I swatch it in the store, I guess the sale/impulse buy got me sucked in. It is a coral pink shade (a colour that would be worn in the Spring/Summer seasons) I have something similar in my collection the NYX Matte Lipstick in Summer Breeze:

Ok you are probably thinking they are completely different shades keyword "similar" in person, I tend to not reach for this colour and I regret purchasing both of these lipsticks but I will make it work and mix it in with my other lipsticks :)

Red Essential

This shade is a blue toned red (my favorite type of red lipstick that suits my skin tone) it is very pigmented and it will also make your teeth appear whiter ;)

Light It Up

This kind of red is orange based which sometimes I cannot pull off because of my skin tone like the NYX Matte Lipstick in Perfect Red that has a strong orange undertone. Along with the Red Essential it is also pigmented, it would suit mostly medium to tan skin girls and I am light to medium skin tone but that doesn't mean I dislike the colour.

Sorry about my lip swatches but I do try my best for you guys, please see below.

*I have made an error with the names of the lip swatches above, the Pink So Chic is actually Love My Pink and Minimalist is Pink So Chic. My apologises for the confusion I can't be bothered retaking new photos lol, thank you for your understanding.

Overall these are very pigmented with a semi matte finish when applied to the lips. The longevity it will only last until you eat (obviously) especially with oily foods and I'd say this is worth the splurge as these are very inexpensive and the only thing that would be a con is when the product runs out you have to sharpen it which causes to waste some product. Highly recommend you go and swatch these and see what you think of them.

P.S I am not good at describing colours but I try my best also I am not great at lip swatches. These opinions are of my own and just because I don't like or I do like them, it doesn't mean you will agree as well I highly suggest you go try out the product/s yourself and create your own thoughts :)
